Unlike some members of society, I do not need to see creation as a great work of God's might to validate my appreciation of it's beauty.

Clearly not unrelated to the post about spirituality, and I agree whole-heartedly. I feel most "spiritual" these days when hiking and photographing nature.

It's so freeing to be able to take responsibility for yourself, isn't it?

Although I no longer look to any god to provide direction for my life, I still find myself longing to have a perfect—or at least a caring—heart.

The whole essay is wonderful. This closing line is inspiring and challenging. I don't have to ask God to give me such a heart or wait for him to do it. Instead, I can take full responsibility for acting and thinking in caring ways.

Despite its imperfections, nature inspires me with its unbounded beauty. From the largest galaxy to the smallest particle, I am constantly amazed by this universe in which we find ourselves. Although I no longer look to any god to provide direction for my life, I still find myself longing to have a perfect—or at least a caring—heart.

Beautiful essay! thanks writerdd. :-)

Without God, there is immanence. You are the universe.

Last I checked, the hippies are all driving Beamers, so where did this come from? Care to explain in between the tokes?
