For me, it's not an unfair or unreasonable question. I often wonder what it would take for me to "re-convert". My reasoning goes something like this: Let's say I believe in the Christian god and worship and love him and follow him to the best of my ability, but then life blows up and I can't find satisfactory answers to my questions as to why. It seems like God is out of the picture, so I painfully divorce myself from belief. If the loving, personal god I believed in exists, he probably doesn't like the idea of me going to hell now, anymore than he did before I decided to become a Christian. So why wouldn't he do something about it? Why wouldn't he fight for me? He has unlimited power and knowledge, knows exactly what it would take to bring me back. If he would act on that knowledge I would once again be his. Do you think that your god is interested in winning me back, Joe?
